Minutes of June 2000 Populace Meeting
June 27, 2000
Meeting started at 7:35 PM by Debbie Jo, with 17 people total in attendance.
Old Business
- Silver Anniversary: The event flyer will go out VERY SOON.
- Pennsic: Word will be coming soon regarding the land allotments. Let Toby know if you
want to be on the meal plan, arrival and departure dates and tent size.
New Business
- Anne has looked into some continuing education classes at UVA. She will email
information to the list, and possibly check to see if we can sit in on the classes.
- David and Karen's household (Oakhaven) is planning on hosting an Elizabethan period
evening at the relatively period-looking Pavilion VIII on the Lawn at UVa. It was decided
that November 18th would probably be the best date.
- Kristen will be setting aside the office of Chatelaine, due to extreme busy-ness. We
will discuss further who will replace her when the students come back.
- Debate about how and if we should separate the Isenfir on-line directory. It was decided
that the best bet would probably be by addresses inside Isenfir and outside Isenfir.
- We need to start thinking about our fall demos.
- We are planning on holding a rummage sale to help defray the costs of our Silver
Anniversary event. Trishka is willing to organize it and come up with a date, we just need
people to clean out their closets and find contributions of stuff you want to get rid of.
- David Gilbert is working on a starting date for madrigal group. He has music that would
be easy enough to do for the Silver Anniversary and would like to get started on it.
- Will anyone be available for Reconstruction (cooking) on Sept 12, possibly at Debbie
Jo's, led by Toby. Please let him know.
Officer Reports
- Herald: Nothing new, some devices and names have been sent in.
- Exchequer: We have money, and need the bills from University.
- Chatelaine: 5 new contacts from the list, we need to plan our fall
demos at UVA and possibly on the Downtown Mall.
- De-facto Marshal: Archery is at Philip's. He's planning on doing some
armor workshops. He will keep us posted to times and days, etc.
- Minister of Arts and Sciences: Nothing new, most Handcrafters will be
devoted to Silver Anniversary planning until the event is over.
- Seneschal: Nothing new.
- Chronicler: After some debate, it was decided that since no one submits
anything, subscriptions are falling off, and most of the information (other than
Isensayings) is on line, the Isenfarings will be cut back to 2 issues a year, and we will
send them out to everyone. We will continue the regular Isenfarings until all the
subscriptions have run out.
- Dance Master: dance has moved to the Charlottesville Municipal Arts
Center. It's a little pricey, so we are asking for $3 donation from everyone, but ONLY IF
YOU CAN AFFORD IT!!!!
- Red Mountain Innkeeper: we need to have a coin making party and mint
1500 coins.
- Deputy Web Minister: GET YOUR DIRECTORY UPDATES IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Events of the Months
- July: (Any ideas?)
- August: PENNSIC WAR
- September: 2nd-3rd Isenfir's 25th Anniversary
