Minutes of February 1997 Populace Meeting

February 26, 1997

A&S Report: Kingdom wishes a list of resources from the Shire in the form of folk who do any arts and sciences and if they be willing to teach their craft. Zoe will be circulating a list soon, so if you fall in that category, please sign up. and if you are working on or have finished any sort of A&S work, let Zoe know so she can record it for her reports.

We have had a falling off in attendance at dance practice. The site may be part of the problem, and someone is working on changing that. Someone suggested the reminder be put on the net a couple days before the fact.

Cooking reconstruction has been changed to Sunday afternoon at Bianca's about an hour before Vespers. That's five o'clock for those who have yet to learn to tell time.

Chronicler and Chatelain had nothing new to report.

Herald reports scriptorum and heraldry meetings are iffy at the moment. Check with Gio or Crista if you plan to go.

Exchequer reports we still have money left in the treasury, and you will soon have a new Exchequer Officer.

Rapier Marshal reports rapier practice is still Sunday afternoon at the downtown library, but check with him first.

Seneschal says Event of the Month is--surprise!-- Nothing but Dance, and Event of the Month for April is Coronation, April 4th. By the by, it is quite close, so consider going.

Zoe gave a status report on the upcoming event. She will be setting up Friday evening, it will likely take a couple hours and if you wish to help, contact her to arrange transportation. Shirelings should be at th even as early as they can, to help with final setup, kitchen etc. Zoe will be there by seven or eight and hopes most of us will be there by shortly after eight, definitely by Terce (nine). Site opens at ten and first class starts at eleven. They are figuring feast for 100. Dining seating will be half easter (on the floor) and half western (at those teeny tiny tables with the teeny tiny seats). Please bring cushions and rugs to use for dining. Bianca has not planned any liquid refresment, though this may be only prefeast, I didn't understand clearly, but Zoe would welcome someone bringing sekenjebub--yes, the spelling is likely wrong--too tired to look it up.

Shirelings are asked to also bring a dessert to be served late in the evening. Also, if you have any lengths of fabric you don't mind risking, or bright scarves, banners etc., please bring. They can be stuck to the magnetic walls to cover the juvenile mundane artwork. If you have any small items you wish to donate as prizes, they would be welcome.

It looks as though there will be two, possibly three tracks of eastern and two of western. We should all be able to learn to the point of overload.

And my lord and I are to judge the lightest on their feet in western dance, and the drummers will judge eastern. Yes, we are influenced by kind words, deeds and chocolate.

Postrevel will be at Zoe and Greg's, directions will be available at the feast.
