Minutes of December 1999 Populace Meeting
December 14, 1999
The meeting was called to order at 7:45pm, in room 328 of Bryan Hall. 9 people in
attendance.
OLD BUSINESS
- Kingdom War Practice in February-- Scott not present.
- Silver Anniversary Event -- (report submitted by David, since Trishka was sick...) We
seem to have run into a slight problem of not being able to reserve a campground for the
weekend we originally chose (April 8th) so we have tried to come up with several other
ideas.
(a) Change the date to May 20th, scale down the event and see if we can use Camp Albemarle
(major problem would be parking)
(b) Keep it on April 8th, and make it a non-camping event.
(c) Maybe try someplace closer to Harrisonburg.
- University -- Anne was not there, no real report.
NEW BUSINESS
- We have been invited to run the RMI in Sudentor, we decided to hold off with a yes or no
until we have a firm date for our Silver Anniversary.
OFFICER REPORTS
(Herald, Rapier Marshal, and De Facto Heavy Marshal
absent -- No reports)
- Web Minister: Newcomers page is coming along well. It should be up
soon.
- Chronicler: Isenfairings went out without a hitch.
- Dance Master Extraordinare: Dance is awesome. Dance is going well.
Practice on Thursday for Masqued Ball. David will have cheat sheets. Our class is still
planning on being advertised through Charlottesville Recreation and Leisure in the spring
2000 catalog.
- Minister of Arts and Sciences: Still looking for projects, things
people want to learn, and things people can teach. Toby is preparing for a mead workshop
sometime in the future.
- Exchequer: So far with the Revels at RMI: took in $720.00, spent a
total of $544.00. We have approximately $607.00 in our account. He needs a final report
from the Chronicler. He has offered to be head Troll for our next event, and has forms to
break down and create a budget. General Note: When preparing for our next event, please
get in touch with Dosso for our tax exempt number before buying anything.
- Chatelaine: David Gilbert of the Salvation Army might have venison for
our next event. Toby is following up on newcomers that are contacting us via email.
