The Evening in the Red Mountain Inn
As promised, a long evening of dancing followed a hot, tasty, hearty
meal. Before we were done for the night, more than 22 dances had
been danced. As usual, the English Country dances were the most
popular, but were not the only dances done. We had a variety of
dances from Italy, France, and England.

Feast consisted of roast chicken, roast pork,
mashed turnips, barley, cabbage, leeks and mushrooms, bread,
and butter. No one left hungry, it was seriously yummy,
and nearly on time despite a major oven failure in the kitchen.
Dancing began only 20 minutes late.

The evening's dancing began with a round of
the Candlestick Bransle.

|
Many, many dances followed, including Jenny
Pluck Pears and Newcastle.

One of the last widely-danced selections of
the evening was Trenchmore.

As always, we are ever-grateful to our talented,
high-endurance musicians, without whom the atmosphere just wouldn't
be the same.
